This is a 6-story former garment factory turned industrial loft-style condo building which was converted back in 2002. These condos feature one and two bedroom floor plans and offer lots of space. Just about all, if not all, of the units contain at least 900 square feet. These condos are very industrial and very urban. They fit the NYC loft mold to a T. These condos boast wooden floors, concrete counters, exposed brick, exposed ductwork, wooden joists, large windows, modern kitchens, modern baths, subway tile, and stainless steel appliances. There are both flat and bi-level floor plans available, and these condos possess very open layouts. Parking is available and the building is pet friendly. There is no doorman or fitness center.

If you’re a fan of loft living, then you’re a fan of these condos. They exude urban industrial living and offer every characteristic you would expect from a loft, which includes: exposed brick walls, exposed ductwork, high ceilings, industrial windows, wooden beams and columns, maple flooring, large open floor plans, and original architectural details of this old garment factory building. Some units are flats where the bedroom is separated by a partition wall, and others are bi-level with ladders leading to the loft space. This 6-story condo building does have parking and is pet friendly. There is no doorman or fitness center. These condos are generous in terms of size, and when broken down by price per square foot these condos tend to make financial sense.

511 Condos, located right on North Broad Street, is a high rise condo building that offers a variety of spectacular Philadelphia views. These condos are loft style in the sense that they have exposed ductwork and plumbing, but not so much when it comes to the bedrooms. Traditionally, when you hear loft you think an open, elevated bedroom, but that’s not the case at 511. All of the units that I have seen are flats, and have a separate, completely sectioned off bedroom. The finishes are nice, but not as high end as some of the other buildings in the Loft District. In most units, you will not find granite counters or stainless steel appliances. It’s not uncommon for these condos to be carpeted, especially in the bedrooms. 511 Condos are just a short walk from City Hall and Center City, and very close to major highways that provide easy access in and out of the city. This is a doorman building that is pet friendly. One of the major appeals of the building, in my opinion, is the quality of views in relation to the price point.

The Beaux Arts Lofts Condominiums are home to 64 condos that span across 8 floors in Philadelphia’s Loft District. A former manufacturing building and listed on the Register of National Historic Places, the Beaux Arts building was constructed in 1909 and still possess lots of its old world charm. Like most lofts in Philadelphia, these condos feature exposed brick, large windows, exposed ductwork, wooden beams, wooden floors, high ceilings, and open layouts. The building was converted to condos in 1995 and has the bragging rights of the first residential living space in this old industrial neighborhood. Due to the date of conversion, it’s not unheard of to find units that haven’t had much updating in recent years. However, you can also find condos that are completely renovated. There is a communal roof deck with panoramic views of the city and skyline. There is no parking, doorman, or fitness center. The building is pet friendly.

Similar to the rest of the condo buildings in Philadelphia’s Loft District, the Old Shoe Factory Lofts was once an industrial building (a shoe factory) converted into condominium living. And as the name of the neighborhood suggests, these condos are loft-style. They feature exposed brick, exposed ductwork, high ceilings, large windows, lots of wood work, open layouts, and industrial finishes. Not all units have skyline views, but the ones that do are unobstructed through the unit’s enormous wall of windows providing spectacular views of Philly’s most recognizable skyscrapers. The majority of the units are flats, but there some bi-level options available. The Old Shoe Factory Lofts building mainly houses one and two bedroom floor plans with a few studios sprinkled in. There is no parking, doorman, or fitness center. The building is pet friendly.
