The actual park lies between 23rd to 24th Streets and Panama to Pine Streets. Fitler Square is in the southwestern part of the Center City district, and the park was named after a former Philadelphia mayor from the 19th century, Edwin Henry Fitler. The neighborhood is bounded by the Rittenhouse Square and Graduate Hospital neighborhoods. Fitler Square is primarily residential consisting mostly of single family homes. It’s definitely one of the smaller neighborhoods in the Center City area, and is home to Markward Playground. It’s a popular destination for UPenn/Drexel students and employees looking for an alternative to University City, but certainly isn’t overrun with undergrads. In my opinion, it’s a mere extension of Rittenhouse and prices tend to reflect that.
