Welcome to colonial Philadelphia! Society Hill contains the largest concentration of original 18th century and early 19th century architecture in the country. The quaint, colonial-style, brick rowhomes on the cobblestone streets scream old world charm. The Society Hill Towers are both a neighborhood landmark, in addition to, a desirable living option. Penn’s Landing Square, a 60+ unit development, also provides an alternate living environment to the colonial rowhomes. In 1971, the Society Hill District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and in 1999 it was listed on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places.
